We use only what is needed to shorten links, secure accounts, and provide useful analytics.
Who controls the data
Marcelo Canto, the operator of LinkVello, is responsible for processing data. This policy applies to the website, user accounts, and links created through the service.
Data we process
- When creating a link: destination URL, short code, creation date, chosen expiration, and visit count.
- When opening a link: approximate country, browser, operating system, device type, and referring domain when provided by the browser.
- When creating an account: email, hashed password, email verification, theme preference, and associated links.
The IP address is used to identify the country and generate a pseudonymous identifier that changes daily. For security and operational monitoring, the raw IP also appears in a summary restricted to local server network administration and is deleted within 30 days.
Cookies and local storage
We do not show an interruptive notice because we only use features that are necessary or requested by the user.

The default theme for a first visit is dark. Removing this data may sign you out or restore default preferences.
Purpose and retention
Data is used to provide the service, protect accounts, prevent abuse, deliver verification emails, and produce anonymized analytics.
The operational summary containing raw IP addresses is deleted after 30 days and is available only from the server's local network. Detailed pseudonymized visit events are deleted after 90 days. Aggregated daily totals may remain in the link history. Public links expire after the selected period, from 1 to 30 days.
Essential providers
Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the website. Resend processes email addresses only to deliver verification and security messages.
Voluntary support
Support platforms receive information only when you choose to open an external link. Their widgets and trackers are not embedded in the URL shortener.
Advertising
The website does not use AdSense or load advertising cookies or scripts.
Your rights
You may request confirmation, access, correction, anonymization, restriction, or deletion where applicable, and exercise other rights under applicable data protection law. Use the contact channels published at marcelocanto.com.
